Ben Johnston

Ben was born and raised in Tenterfield and has a deep-rooted connection to livestock and agriculture, thanks to all he learned while growing up on his family’s cattle property.

Ben began his career as a stock and station agent in 2012 and, from the outset, was mentored by respected industry figure Bruce Birch—an influence that continues to guide Ben today.

After gaining valuable experience under Bruce’s leadership from 2014 to 2016, Ben went on to build his own reputation in the industry. He relocated to Warwick in 2019, where he established a livestock agency before joining forces with like-minded agents to co-found APL Group.

Now Director of APL McDougall and Sons, Ben brings a strong sense of purpose, integrity, and grassroots knowledge to the network—committed to supporting local producers and the next generation of agents.
